Botox
What's this?
Botulinum toxin can be used for aesthetic or therapeutic purposes. This toxin is an inhibitor of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for the release of calcium at the level of the neuromuscular plate. Inhibition of calcium release results in less muscle contraction. Based on this principle, by injecting botulinum toxin into some specific muscles, facial expressions can be altered to mitigate certain blemishes. In order to obtain an optimal result, the operator must know very well the function of each single muscle of the face, identifying the agonist and antagonist muscles. It is therefore essential that the operator be a doctor who has achieved a specialization in aesthetic medicine or, better still, in Plastic Surgery.
The Results
By selecting the muscles where to inject botulinum toxin, the following results can be obtained:
- ELIMINATE PERIOCULAR WRINKLES
- ELIMINATE FRONT WRINKLES
- RAISE THE SIDE THIRD OF THE EYEBROW TO OPEN THE LOOK
- ELIMINATE NOSE WRINKLES
- ELIMINATE PERILABIA WRINKLES
The result begins to be seen 5 days after the session and lasts about 6 months. The first time a patient undergoes this treatment, it is advisable to use a medium-low dose which, if necessary, can be increased in the days following the session (touch-up). This is to ensure the most natural result possible. The result is optimal when wrinkles are eliminated while preserving facial expressions.
The treatment is systematically used in all face antiaging protocols and is today considered a MUST in aesthetic medicine.

Duration

Anesthesia
The treatment is completely painless and does not require any type of therapy

recovery
In the 2/3 days following the infiltrations there may be small bruises and a slight migraine.

Frequency
The session can be repeated every 5-6 months.
